Senator McCain’s Surge Rhetoric

McCain questions Obama’s ability to be commander in chief

McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, said Sen. Barack Obama’s opposition to President Bush’s “surge” strategy, which increased troop levels in Iraq in 2007, and his response to the recent crisis in Georgia raised questions about the Illinois Democrat’s judgment.

Senator McCain seems to be signing off on the current “Commander-In-Chief’s” handling of the Iraq war. Why not “Ask America” how it feels about its Commander-In-Chief’s performance?

Americans asked the Bush team in 2003, prior to Mr. Bush’s going to war, if he  needed more troops. The Bush team replied no. The world, perhaps excluding neocons, now knows better. After Mr. Bush’s invasion and removal of Iraq’s government, Iraq plunged into CHAOS.

It is hard to believe that any American citizen would deliberately put innocent Iraqis in harm’s way so maybe the neocons forgot about “maintaining the peace”. Could the current Commander-In-Chief have forgotten about maintaining the peace? The current Commander-In-Chief is a lot closer to Senator McCain than Barack Obama. Is Senator McCain recommending that Barack Obama be like the current Commander-In-Chief? Senator McCain seems to be “concerned” about Barack Obama while expressing no reservations about the current Commander-In-Chief.

The Surge(too little, too late) was really a slap-in-the-face to the Iraqi non-combatants. Actually, it was worse than a slap-in-the-face. The civilians were left without police protection during most of the “1st five-year-plan“. They were shot-up and blown-up.

The Surge(too little, too late) was “on duty” during both of the recent female suicide bomber’s attacks in Baghdad. Those two individuals wrecked havoc on Baghdad. If Moqtada al-Sadr’s militia went back to war, Iraq’s quiet would be shattered.  The Surge(too little, too late) not withstanding – Iraq’s quiet would be shattered and the neocons would cease talking about the Surge(too little, too late).

The Iraq war is likely the dumbest war America(the Bush team) has ever fought. It will likely end when Iraq’s last barrel of oil is sold or when the last American soldier – standing in Iraq  – falls.

While neocons do seem to hold wars in high esteem, the execution of wars – like other neocon executions – could be described as train-wrecks. The neocons have no atta-boys – unless one would include BIG OIL’S BEST YEARS EVER. Why are the neocons reticent about the one BIG accomplishment during their rein? The “SURGE” in gasoline prices might make a “handsome” topic for the rhetoric of Senator John McCain.

And, of course, those who ”digest” Senator McCain’s Surge rhetoric, likely, don’t have a clue as to how the Surge caused Iraq’s quiet. That’s the way neocon’s rhetoric works. Believers keep on believing. In reality, the Iraq war was started by rhetoric. To this day, no one has found “hide nor hair” of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction.
