***UPDATE*** 11:11PM Democrats have begun to push back on the bailout plan offered by the Bush Administration, specifically with legislation that would cut the salaries of the CEO’s whose firms participate in the bailout and by adding more oversight provisions. The Washington Post reports:

Congressional Democrats considering the Bush administration’s emergency plan to shore up the U.S. financial system yesterday countered with their own demands, presenting draft legislation giving the government power to cut salaries of chief executives at firms…

The neocons tried:

They tried mightily to ignore, deny, ward-off and rename America’s oncoming RECESSION.

They needed to. An election was coming up. They had been able to successfully fool America for eight years. Eight years of train-wrecks and they were still, in their own minds, standing tall.

The IN-DENIAL tool was made to order for this group of neocons. From Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush, was all it took to wreck America’s financial system.

President Bill Clinton, during his brief administration, brought sanity back to America’s spending. But the neocons were able to impeach him because he failed to tell the truth about improper touching. Under the same circumstances, it is likely that nobody else would have told the truth either. And it was later revealed that the “rock throwers” lived in glass houses.

Bill Clinton left office and the neocons came back – they came back and continued their wild spending. Who is doing the wild spending? “We talking” political “descendants” of the politicians who “embedded” the word “fiscal” into the meaning of conservative. These political descendants should have renamed themselves or welcomed somebody else renaming them.

The politics of the neocons bore little or no resemblance to Barry Goldwater or Dwight D. Eisenhower or Everette Dirksen. The neocons had new ideas. They were the far-right-wing of the Republican party. They called themselves conservatives – but it sure wasn’t money that they conserved. On second thought, they did conserve money in America’s general population.

Even America’s treasury and credit card system could not line the pockets of the rich, pay for the cost of running the American government and pay for the Bush team’s love of wars. The neoconservative’s spending and lack of oversight of the financial community, brought the richest country in the world to its knees. And this is not the first time.

This is the second time that Republicans, with their “experimental economics“, have brought America’s financial system to its knees.

Take another look at how the neocon’s spending differed FROM EVERYBODY elses spending. Everybody’s! Focus on the red line. Then look at the names of the Presidents attached to those lines.

National Debt Graph (2007 Budget data)

National Debt as % of GDP. see also: (Source)

In 1981 the gross national debt, compared to the nation’s annual income, reached its lowest point since 1931. Despite his claim to hate the debt, Reagan instituted unprecedented peacetime deficit spending. This is not partisan politics, this is straight off the White House web site.
As the graph shows, Bush II repeated Reagan’s performance and turned the debt upward again. Bush II’s own Office of Management and Budget provides all the data…

After finishing with the above graph, continue by looking at the below graph(again). See how the neocons shared the wealth that working Americans helped create – with working Americans(the graph includes college grads) :

42041256 wages prod 416gr

Again, notice the red line. Notice how the neocon era put an end to the parallel tracking of productivity and wage growth. Putting more money into the hands of those college educated workers might have caused inflation! RIGHT? Where did that money go?

Are responsible adult individuals in charge of spending America’s money. Does there appear to be any checks on the spending of the Executive Branch? Did America’s founding fathers, in the design of America, forget something? Or did somebody NOT do their job?

Some time ago, perhaps in a symbolic move, Brattleboro Vermont (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/mar/05/georgebush.usa), tried to do the job of America’s House of Representatives. That, of course, was an impossible task for a small town. But it showed that America was not devoid of the qualities that made it great.
