It is difficult to find a neocon record the neocons did not hide from. Two monstrosities were the Iraq war record and the illegal immigration record.
It is difficult to understand how a civilized – post dark ages country can tolerate a political party starting a war for secret reasons. But that did happen. And it happened so long ago that press elements ought to have called the “ perpetrators” on the carpet.
Why – after 8 years can the neocons still be successfully hiding from the cause of their Iraq war? Does not the press care about America’s ethics, legality and history? Does it make sense to set this high-level stupid behavior as an example for the rest of the world? Although the brains of the perpetrators may think otherwise – their behavior does impact and influence the behavior of others in the world. There is a reason why Iran feels threatened by current world conditions.
Just as the neocons were the “nucleus”, in 2003, for the start of the Iraq war – they were the “nucleus’ , in 1986, for America’s immigration act. President Ronald Reagan did the honors. His action on legal American labor is well known. He fired 11,000 Americans for an illegal(wildcat?) walk-out but he showed a different face when his 1986 immigration laws were all but ignored by America’s big business. Illegal workers in America don’t make noises about working conditions or pay. And that is a heavenly condition for big business. The neocons turned a “blind eye” to illegal immigrants – until they lost power at the top.
After they lost power at the top – Arizona noticed it had a border that was porous. All kinds of stuff littered that border and Arizona’s Governor cried foul to the federal government. After sitting on its duff for twenty-some-odd years Arizona noticed it had a border problem and it was the Democrat’s fault. The neocons haven’t changed a bit. Their screw-ups always gets assigned to someone else. And the press doesn’t say a “mumbling word” – not a “word” – not a “word”.
Record hiding is a neocon tradition. You can’t MAKE neocons talk about their political performance. And since this has gone on for twenty-some-odd years, one has to wonder about the definition of the role, if any, America’s press has played in record hiding.
